Netiquette:When applied to Email- The subject line of a message should always be used and should explain the contents of the message accurately. - If you do not know the recipient, then make sure your message is short, to the point, and without spelling or grammatical error. - Jokes and irony do not always comes across as intended. Be careful in there use or avoid them totally. - If your email address does not indicate who the sender is, then make sure you finish the message by stating precisely who you are. - If quoting a prior message, make sure the reply is below the quote. To save bandwidth and increase readability it may not be necessary to quote the entire message. - Do not write the message in capital letters. A message written in capitals is viewed as shouting, it's often the reserve of spammers, and can give the impression of an aggressive tone. - Ask before you forward an email. The person who originated the message will have intended it for your eyes only unless stated otherwise. - If you do not know the recipient and your message does not require HTML, then format and send it in plain text. - Due not send attachments without prior permission from the recipient. Many users are on a limited monthly bandwidth limit and may not appreciate large attachments which do not interest them. Attachments are well known to contain viruses and the message will most likely will be deleted unless the recipient is certain of the content. - If you can, notify the sender you have received the email. Spam filters have a habit of intercepting genuine emails and a notification clarifies any concern over the filtering issue.
